The 70 Lea Standard

Lea is the traditional imperial measure of linen yarn fineness (the number of 300-yard skeins per pound). Standard linen shirts use coarse 25–40 Lea yarns. Malvessi exclusively weaves 70 Lea — creating an exceptionally light, supple cloth that floats over the body without clinging.

Flax Cultivation in Normandy

Flax requires virtually no irrigation beyond natural rainwater and minimal fertilizer compared to thirsty cotton. The maritime mist, rich silt soil, and ocean breeze along the English Channel create the longest continuous flax bast fibers in the world.

The Living Crease & Softness Arc

Linen has a molecular crystalline structure that responds to moisture and warmth. Rather than fighting natural wrinkling, fine linen develops soft, undulating waves that mold to your posture. With each gentle wash, natural pectins release, increasing fabric softness by up to 40% over 100 days.
